Microsoft Word is perhaps the most used word processor in the world. Although it has auto-backup and self-recovery capabilities, these are not always sufficient when a file is extremely damaged or corrupted.
WordRecovery claims to be able to rescue almost all damaged Word files. It has a very easy-to-use wizard that walks you through the different steps needed. You can manually add the file(s) or folder(s) that you need to recover, or use the program's auto-detect function. Once you have added the files to recover, the program reminds you to create a backup copy of the original files just in case. Then, you will need to set the output folder and start the recovery process. The program works pretty fast, although its speed depends on each file's size and damage degree. When the recovery is done, the program shows a report with relevant data about the recovered file(s).
The demo version of the program will recover only a part of the document and will add the 'Demo' tag to the unrecovered parts. To get rid of this limitation, you will need to purchase a license. There are two license types: personal and corporate. The latter one is more costly ($103) than the personal one.
